"No one is more concerned with the accused's rights than we are." 

This is a truth that often surprises those who hear Larry Haskell say it, but it makes sense; if the rights of the accused are violated, justice for the victims will not be possible.

The role of a prosecuting attorney requires tremendous balance.  Their job is not simply to seek conviction of the accused, but to defend all aspects of the law including justice for victims, rights of the accused and interests of the community.
